Tom Flynn SC is a practising barrister specialising in local government, planning and environmental law. He is assistant editor of the Irish Planning and Environmental Law Journal a contributor to the Irish Planning Law Factbook and has lectured and written widely on the topics of planning and environmental law. He is an Adjunct Associate Professor in the School of Architecture, Planning and Environmental Policy, University College, Dublin. He was called to the Inner Bar in 2021.

Dr John Temple Lang was in the Legal Service of the European Commission from 1974 to 1988 and he was a Director in the Competition Directorate General of the European Commission from 1988 to2000. Dr Temple Lang subsequently went back into private practice with Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton, in Brussels. He is now Senior Visiting Research Fellow in the University of Oxford and an Adjunct Professor in Trinity College, Dublin. Dr John Temple Lang has published widely on European law – he is the author of a core textbook and has published over 300 papers on a wide variety of subjects and he has an honorary doctorate from University of Lund, in Sweden.

Alison Fanagan is a Consultant in A&L Goodbody's Litigation Department and a former Partner of the firm, with over 28 years' experience. She is joint Head of the Environmental & Planning Group, and provides specialist advice on all aspects of planning, environmental and health and safety law both contentious and non-contentious. Alison is also an experienced commercial litigator, with a particular focus on judicial review. Alison advises on the defence of criminal prosecutions, on taking and defending claims for negligence and nuisance, and on all aspects of planning injunctions. She advises buyers, sellers and funders on due diligence and has a particular expertise in renewable energy projects including both onshore and offshore wind.

Liam Cashman is a former European Commission official who worked as a lawyer in DG Environment before his retirement. Having worked as a desk officer for Ireland, he later specialised in governance and enforcement topics.

Alessandra is an Ad Astra PhD Candidate at University College Dublin (UCD). Her research focuses on climate change and its intersections with biodiversity and ecosystem protection as well as human rights. Alessandra holds an LLM in Public International Law from Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB). She also completed one-year Master’s degree in Political Science at ULB and a Second cycle Master’s degree in Law at the Università del Salento (UniSalento). She speaks Italian, English and French.

Alexandru Gociu is a third year PhD Candidate at the School of Law, Trinity College Dublin. He is writing his dissertation on comparative energy policy and climate constitutionalism. After earning his JD from University of Oradea, he practiced law in Romania as an attorney. He has an LLM in Comparative Law from Louisiana State University, an LLM in European Law from University of Oradea, and a BA in International Relations and European Studies from the National School of Political Studies and Public Administration, Bucharest.
