Forum on Food Waste 2026: Food Waste Charter Networking Event (In Person only)
Join the EPA Circular Economy team at Teagasc, Ashtown on Wednesday 22 April for a half day event filled with insightful discussions, national and international perspectives and networking opportunities, with a chance to share experiences on measuring and reducing food waste.
The event will be hosted by leading journalist Philip Boucher-Hayes. By attending, food sector businesses and industry professionals will hear updates on the Food Waste Charter, the latest food waste statistics and policy developments for achieving Ireland's binding food waste targets, as well as hearing international perspectives on the new targets for EU Member States.
New for 2026: 1-to-1 Information Sessions
This year, following the close of the formal agenda, attendees will have the opportunity to meet with organisations in 1-to-1 Information Sessions providing advice across a range of topics. How to Register your place
Come along to participate in the discussion on how to get started with your food waste reduction journey, along with the challenges and opportunities associated with measuring and reducing food waste in the sector.
Places at the Forum on Food Waste 2026 are allocated on a first come, first served basis due to the capacity of the venue. Priority may have to be given to food sector businesses should numbers become limited.

EPA Food Waste Charter Resources – have you used the Food Waste Measurement Protocol and have a question? Would you like to know more about the Food Waste Charter guidance documents or advice on compiling your annual report?
FoodCloud – have you a question about options to redistribute surplus food from your business?
EPA Circular Economy Regulation End of waste and By-products team – have you a question about using a by-product notification to support waste prevention and getting advice on how to prepare one?
Enterprise Ireland – have you a question about applying for funding supports or do you want to find out more about digitalisation of processes for food waste elimination?
Fáilte Ireland – have you a question on supports available for tourism businesses to measure and reduce food waste through the Climate Action Programme?
How to Book a 1-to-1 meeting
Representatives from the above organisations will host Information Desks offering bookable 10‑minute appointments between 1:30-2:30pm after the formal event has closed.
You may reserve slots through the registration form, for your first and second preference organisations, which will be accommodated on a first‑come, first‑served basis.
Meeting time slots will be allocated manually once demand is known and you will receive a separate email confirming your meeting times at that stage. Please make sure you are available to attend before booking.
