About These Events
The Northern Ireland Policing Board and Police Service of Northern Ireland, in partnership with Queen’s University Belfast and Ulster University, are hosting a series of events to mark 25 years of the new policing arrangements in Northern Ireland.
Three Conversations with Purpose events are being held to reflect on progress over the last 25 years and facilitate public discussion on policing matters and future expectations for the Service.
We want to hear from people from across the community to help shape and set a vision for the next 25 years.
These events can be attended in person or online.

Northern Ireland Policing Board Chair Brendan Mullan will contribute to the panel discussion.
Chief Executive Sinead Simpson will act as moderator at the Belfast and Derry/Londonderry events.
The Policing Board is an independent public body made up of 10 Political and 9 Independent Members to ensure for all the people of Northern Ireland an effective, efficient, impartial, representative and accountable police service. Its primary statutory duty is oversight of the Police Service of Northern Ireland.

Policing and Community Safety Partnerships
Policing and Community Safety Partnerships
Joining the panel discussion will be Independent Members from some of the local Policing and Community Safety Partnerships operating across Northern Ireland. PCSPs, which are supported by the Policing Board and Department of Justice, work with the community to identify issues of concern in local areas and prepare plans to deliver practical solutions.

At the event, the issues for discussion will be set out by academics from Ulster University who have researched and written extensively on policing and criminal justice matters.
Professor Duncan Morrow is currently UU Director of Community Engagement and Dr Jonny Byrne is a lecturer and tutor in criminology and criminal justice in the School of Criminology, Social Policy and Politics.
Dr Gaby Nugent- Stephens will act as Moderator at the Dungannon event.
